At 10:23am on November 30, Warragul Fire Brigade was informed of a car accident with a possible person trapped.
The crew from a previous call were still in station and were quick to respond
code one in the Warragul Pumper. A second crew arrived at the station and turned out in Warragul Tanker, five minutes later.
The brigade arrived to find a red coupe had spun and landed rear first into the bushes that separate the east and west bound lanes. The rear of the vehicle was badly damaged as a result. Fortunately, the female driver was not trapped and was able to exit the vehicle unassisted, however was suffering from shock and was treated in the vehicle on scene by firefighters until the ambulance arrived.
Police shut down one lane of the highway while emergency and recovery vehicles attended to the incident.
Warragul SES also attended the scene and assisted with salvage and recovery of the vehicle.
We ask all drivers to be mindful of the varying conditions, and drive to the road conditions. As we approach Christmas, please think of your family and the families of other drivers, and do your bit to make sure everyone has a happy and safe Christmas.
