The Warragul Downtowner car park was abuzz with activity on Saturday morning as it hosted the fundraiser and family fun day for the Warragul CFA and SES.
Crowds started to arrive early to see the many displays and stalls which included carnival rides and games, bands, hot rods, petting zoo, reptile displays, lotto draws, Santa and much more.
Of course the local CFA and SES supported by Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on hand to display their skills and equipment to the public. The CFA provided a static display of all of its vehicles which allowed the public to get up close and personal with members and equipment alike. Included in the CFA display was the smoke house, a Fire Ready Victoria presenter on hand to answer any questions, a fishing game and a specialist aerial pumper appliance which was brought in from Fiskville in the states South West for the family fun day.
The SES provided a static display of their vehicles, provided helpful information on storms and provided a demonstration of the unit’s ability to conduct Road Crash Rescue operations. Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on hand to show the public through their vehicles in support of the fundraising efforts for Warragul CFA and SES.
Co-organiser of the event Lieutenant Steve Venville of the Warragul CFA said” It was a great day with a lot of hard work in organising the event. It was great to see the number of faces coming through the event enjoying the day and acknowledging the great work the local emergency services do. It was also great to see the amount of support from local businesses who generously donated goods or time for the event”.
