Warragul Fire Brigade's Competition / Running team is comprised of firefighters from within the brigade, who compete as a team across the state, primarily in competitions held by the CFA throughout Gippsland and the South Eastern part of the state. Competitions have been around for some 125 years and are a way for firefighters to test themselves on commonly encountered firefighting tasks against fellow brigades in a friendly atmosphere. Although the methods of firefighting have changed many of the events haven't.
Events include: Marshall - 1 Competitor Marshall - 2 Competitors Y-Coupling - 4 Competitors Hydrant Race Ladder Race Pumper - 4 Competitors Pumper and Ladder - 5 Competitors Hose and Reel  - 4 Competitors Hose and Reel - 6 Competitors Hose and Reel - 8 Competitors Hose and Ladder - 5 Competitors Hose and Ladder - 8 Competitors Y-Coupling - 8 Competitors Champion Fours Discipline Contest Tourchlight Procession
