During the past days, Victoria has experienced its worst fire weather ever.

Warragul Fire Brigade has been one of the many brigades in the region to respond to calls for assistance due to the Bunyip Ridge Fire, which started in the Bunyip State Park, and spread into the farmland areas of Labertouche, Longwarry North, Jindivick, Drouin West, and many other localities.

Early on Saturday, February 7, the fire broke containment lines and burnt more fiercely than many brigade members have experienced, and has destroyed over a dozen homes so far. So far, no lives have been lost due to the Bunyip Ridge Fire, and hopefully this remains the case.

Unfortunately, other areas of the state have not been so lucky. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the fire, who have lost loved ones & friends, those who have lost their homes and those who have lost property.

Due to the large number of incidents the brigade was paged to on the 7th and in the following days, the Incident Summary on our website has not been updated.  Once the fires have settled down, we will resume the Incident Summary of calls the brigade attends.
